Flooring Options Pros and Cons |

When looking at hardwood flooring, carpet and tile, as well as other coverings for the floor, you want to think about the benefits along with the disadvantages to decide which one is right for you. Here is a list of the most popular flooring options and the good and bad for each.
Hardwood Flooring
Hardwood flooring in Toronto homes has become quite popular. They are beautiful and go with just about any design style. They come in a range of styles and colors to fit any personality and preference.
Hardwood floors are an investment. They can last for many years. In fact, once you install them, you may never need to replace them for as long as you own your home. This type of flooring helps add value to your house when you are ready to sell. Another benefit is you can sand them down and stain them a new color if trends change.
The only real downside to hardwood floors is the cost. It can be expensive to buy hardwood flooring, especially if you can’t install them yourself. Some styles are easier for a DIY project than others.
Carpet
Carpet is less expensive than any other flooring material. It is comfortable to walk on and can help insulate a home. Carpet comes in a wide range of styles and colors to fit any décor. It’s also relatively easy for a homeowner to install.
While carpet can last for several years, it will need to be replaced. In fact, most carpet only has a lifespan of five to ten years. Higher-quality carpet will last longer than the budget styles.
The biggest downside of carpet for many is the fact that it can harbor allergens, which causes issues for anyone with allergies. Even when you vacuum, you can’t get out all the dirt that’s hidden. For this reason, more people are moving away from carpet.
Tile
Tile is another option for flooring in your home. One of the advantages of this material is that it works well in areas with high humidity such as the kitchen and bathroom. Tile is designed to be long-lasting and durable. It comes in many styles and shades.
Installing tile can be a DIY project if you know how to line up patterns and cut it to go in corners or around cabinets. Otherwise, it’s best left to the professionals. You can find tile in just about any price range from inexpensive basic styles to the more elaborate products which carry a higher price tag.
Many people don’t like having tile throughout the home because it may lack the warmth of either hardwood or carpet. However, a lot of homes use tile in at least some areas because it’s easy to clean and can handle moisture.
These three options are the main choices in flooring material. Each one can be beneficial in the right space, but you must decide which one is best for your home. With so many styles to choose from, you’re sure to find an option you love.
